THE GRANDFATHER PARADOX

Let us say that we somehow able to form a time machine and now we can travel anywhere in time.

In that case, a crazy scientist thought of an experiment:  he wants to go back in time and shoot his own grandfather before he(the grandfather) met his(the crazy scientist's) grandmother.

You ask: why would he want to kill his grandfather?

I'll say: He's crazy! or maybe his grandfather never bought him candies!

!! Well, it gets a little bit more interesting.

Let's say that he somehow manages to go back and shot his grandfather before the conception of father or mother.

Then logic dictates that if there was no grandfather to conceive the father or mother then there will be no crazy scientist (he will prevent his own birth).

The question arises: Who shot the grandfather? or Could you kill your grandpa?

This is a Paradox!

Solution:

There might be a lot of solution but every philosophy is based on our understanding and better compatibility with the paradox itself.

1.   This solution allows the crazy scientist to alter the past by changing the events happened in the past but when he travels back to his original time he will see no change in the past. that is because after alteration he will manage to create a different timeline that is different from his.

This solution also explains a so-called time

traveler John Titor (2000-2001), who claimed to come from the future 2036 for a military mission,

he also described his time machine. However, it was a hoax but suits as an example.

2. This solution does not allow the crazy scientist to alter the past. according to this, no matter how hard the crazy scientist tries to kill his grandfather he will never succeed. the grandfather will somehow prevent his death.

This solution can be better understood by the movie called

"The Time Machine(2002)". after a mugger kills the fiance of the

leading hero, the hero built a time machine to save his wife but

couldn't due to the fact that there is no alteration possible in the

past. After the realization of this fact, he turns his time machine

forward to see the future of the human race where he met with a

the complex reality of civilization getting destroyed and artificial

intelligence. (You should watch that if you haven't yet)

Another solution is a bit eccentric and involves a lot of imagination thus leaving them aside these two are the most understandable solution for the paradox.

However, we can not conduct an experiment for the paradox, so we have to work our way with the theory itself.
